The name, derived from Chinese characters, means ‘a place of peace and tranquillity’, and you’ll find both amid the rolling hills of this beautifully presented manor house with self-catering suites in spectacular refurbished 17th-century stone barns set around a courtyard. It’s a wedding and events venue with everything from meeting rooms and a converted Nissen hut to a glass house for 250 guests, but is also run as a friendly B&B when there are no group bookings. Your manor bedroom might have a four-poster bed, a double soaking tub, a wet-room shower. All are pristine, painted white, with stripped floorboards, a gorgeous pared-back aesthetic. A continental breakfast is delivered to suite guests with the ingredients for cooking.
