The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
A discreet mural of a helter-skelter on the grey-painted flank of this boutique B&B gives a hint of the razzmatazz within. Scott Browning and Alistair Veness take joy in welcoming guests to a village house filled with knickknacks, kitsch, neon signs, vintage furniture and fun. At the rear there’s a small, Tuscan-inspired oasis garden, an Asian-themed hideout, a hot tub and boutique gym. An award winning, locally sourced breakfast in the conservatory, cooked by Scott, includes homemade preserves, porridge brȗlée with Devon cream, buttery, herby mushrooms on sourdough toast, Salcombe crab, avocado and spring onion on home-baked seeded brown toast with poached eggs and chorizo dust (the only dust you’ll find in this immaculate, cherished property).
