The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
“One of our best hotel experiences in 15 years,” write visitors to this creeper-covered boutique hotel just south of this lovely medieval town. Others wrote: “A wonderful discovery.” “The ideal stop-over, if you want to eat well and stay cheaply.” It is close to the busy road, but the soundproofed, air-conditioned rooms are “very quiet”. “A superb room; we”ve never had a better shower.” “The food was exquisite. Even the children”s menu was excellent. Service was calmly efficient.” Jean-Michel Carrette has taken over from his father Michel Carrette, chef/patron for over 20 years, and retains his Michelin star. He runs it with his wife Amandine. Meals are served by “pleasant staff” in three “discreetly elegant” dining rooms. A new extension offers eight smart new rooms, most with private terraces.
