'Highly recommended; good value', this is a 'very pleasant' B&B, which the Bernardini family has run for over 70 years. A late 19th-century villa, 'beautifully kept, decorated with taste', it is in the embassy district. Fine antiques on landings, public spaces with smart sofas, lamps, books and flower pictures give it a country house air. It stands behind ivy-clad walls, shrubs and plants, on a busy road (front bedrooms have double-glazed windows; other rooms have garden views). 'The welcome is warm,' says a visitor. 'All the staff are friendly. My room was pleasing, though it faced an office block.' An earlier guest had a 'smallish well-furnished single with fitted carpet (unusual for Italy) and nice extras, like slippers'. The buffet continental breakfast (fruit, cereals, etc) is in a 'very agreeable' room, or under parasols in the garden. Children and pets are welcomed. The city centre is easily reached by bus.
