Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Built on the site of a 13th-century abbey, this converted 16th-century mansion is now a luxurious hotel in a side street in St-Germain-des-Prés. It has recently been totally redecorated. Readers have said, “Service is impeccable.” “A wonderful atmosphere.” “Like a small country house. Our room looked over the garden, where the only noise was the birds” dawn chorus.” Some bedrooms have a terrace by the garden; some others face the courtyard, with its topiary shrubs and magnolia. But front rooms hear street noise. Some rooms are small, but all are well furnished, with “sumptuous” fabrics, and many have beams. A buffet breakfast is served; the continental breakfast is “generous and delicious”. The panelled lounge has an honesty bar, board games, English newspapers and a log fire, and there is a spa in the vaults. Outstanding concierge service.
