Behind imposing wrought iron gates, and fronted by a courtyard with a central fountain and lawns, this big, honey-coloured, former 18th-century hunting lodge was liked again by visitors. “Very peaceful.” “Smooth, redecorated; the cuisine is even better.” Others wrote: “An exceptional hotel. Everything faultless. A memorable dinner.” Owned by Pascal Leromain, it has “charming staff”, and “comfortable, well-equipped” bedrooms. But there is no air conditioning and the rooms under the eaves, though attractive (exposed beams, etc), “can be very hot in summer”. “Food is delicious, and very well served.” Meals are taken in the chandeliered dining room or a spacious garden room, looking on to a big lawn that stretches to a stream and pond. Breakfasts include cold meats, cheeses, “outstanding croissants”. The “fabulous swimming pool” is in a converted barn, and bicycles can be borrowed. The hotel also manages 5 B&B rooms set 2.5 km away; they are on the first floor of a building with a communal lounge below.
