The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. The editors and inspectors do not accept free hospitality on their anonymous visits to hotels. All hotels in the Guide receive a free basic listing. A fee is charged for a full web entry.

Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Quietly set by St Agnes Monastery (and once part of the convent) this hotel is composed of two listed buildings in the Gothic style. It is owned by the Kotikova famiky; Katerina Kotikova is the manager. It is 'a good place for peaceful collapse after exploring the city', say its nominators. The bedrooms are 'stylish and spacious'; there is a pleasant courtyard for summer meals and drinks. 'Slow service at breakfast, but the buffet choice was excellent.' Well placed for the Old Town Square, but 'out of earshot of the louder British visitors', it offers 'particularly good deals in July, August and winter'.
