'A little French gem, full of charm and character': Gisèle and Denise Lafuente's chambres d'hôtes stands quietly in 'beautifully kept gardens', in easy walking distance to the centre. The spacious bedrooms, all different, are 'decorated in tasteful modern style, with great attention to detail' (original furniture, quilted bedcovers, etc). Eleven rooms have a private terrace and garden with fig tree. Bathrooms are 'well designed', showers 'a delight to use'. Breakfast, served outside in good weather, was 'the best we came across in our travels', say the nominators. 'Top-quality ingredients, beautifully presented and prepared.' A simple lunch menu is available, and a new addition for 2015 is a restaurant catering mainly to hotel guests and offering locally-sourced, seasonal Provencal cuisine. The 'enthusiastic and friendly' owners are painters: their work is in evidence on furniture and walls, and they run workshops on decorative paint techniques.
