Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Overlooking the Arno, between the Ponte Vecchio and the Uffizi, this 'very peaceful' B&B hotel has 'marvellous views of the duomo'. Its ambience is 'decidedly Italian, though all the staff speak English', according to a fan. A returning visitor wrote: 'The staff remain very friendly, accommodation is pleasant.' Breakfasts and cocktails on the flowery roof terrace are 'delightful, especially when the bells of nearby churches are ringing'. There are six floors: a small lift takes you to the fifth-floor reception and the 'beautifully furnished bar/lounge', which provides drinks until late, and has a fire in winter. Bedrooms are smallish, quite plain; beds are comfortable, bathrooms well equipped (many have a spa bath). The higher you go, the better (and more expensive) the room.
