The 1930s villa may lack 'antique charm', but all is 'spotless', and 'facilities are excellent'. Open-plan public rooms have picture windows. Bedrooms have a smart colour scheme, wood fittings, spacious bathroom. 'Metal window shutters keep out city noise and early sunlight.' Some rooms, good for a family, are in a little house by the small swimming pool. The simple buffet breakfast is served on a veranda facing the duomo. Snacks are available from the bar. 'You can sip a drink in the garden at night, roses scenting the air, the city lights twinkling below.' Guests' laundry is returned 'beautifully washed and ironed, often the same day'.
