The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
A 'quiet, tasteful' B&B just four minutes' walk from the Markt. It is liked for its reasonable prices and 'the kindness of the owners', Magda Maenhoudt and her husband, and their staff. Help is given with parking and luggage. The handsome old gabled house has a fine staircase, chandeliers and a 'cosy yet elegant' breakfast room which faces a rose garden with a cupid statue. Some bedrooms share this view. The best rooms are large. 'Ours, at the back, reached up steep winding steps (no lift), was pin-drop quiet.' Seven new rooms were opened a few years ago. The substantial breakfast has orange and apple juice, fresh rolls (home baked), ham, salami, cheese, yoghurt, fruit, cereals, etc.
