The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Between town and racecourse in leafy Pittville, this friendly hotel is in a fine stone mansion with gardens front and back. The 1830s building retains its original high ceilings, large windows, cantilevered staircase and decorative mouldings; its bijou bar and garden-facing room are stylish spaces in which to enjoy a drink, and breakfast. Individually decorated, pleasing bedrooms vary in size from cosy doubles to spacious rooms that can accommodate an extra bed for a child. Each room has tea and coffee-making facilities, plus British-made toiletries in a modern bathroom. Shops and restaurants in the centre are a 15-minute walk away.
