Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Spread across two Georgian townhouse, this chic boutique B&B is a short stroll from the abbey, Roman baths and spa. Third-floor standard rooms are quite bijou, but an espresso machine and home-baked biscuits are standard issue. There are some beautiful, spacious superior rooms with tall windows. In each of the houses, a deluxe double with an in-room roll-top bath looks onto cobbled lanes and a 300-year-old plane tree. Throughout, the décor is restrained, restful and beautiful. A large family room has a super-king bed, with a single in an adjoining room. The atmospheric bar/lounge has stone staircases and fireplaces. At breakfast there is homemade granola, a full English or full vegetarian, smoked salmon, eggs Benedict, Royale or Florentine.
