The ocean feels very present at this adults-only hotel overlooking a renowned surfers’ beach, with interiors in soft coastal colours. Bedrooms range from very affordable ‘economy’ with no sea view, to ‘best’, with private balcony, and a suite with balcony and hot tub. All have a minibar and GAIA toiletries. Recently refurbished, the bright and breezy, nautical-themed Bay Bar and Dune restaurant have floor-to-ceiling windows. Locally landed fish features on the seasonal à la carte menu along with dishes such as venison loin and haunch, fillet steak and, from the short vegan menu, Thai butternut squash and spinach curry. Breakfast brings a full English, vegetarian and vegan. All guests have complimentary membership of the spa and fitness suite.
