The Good Hotel Guide is the leading independent guide to hotels in Great Britain & Ireland, and also covers parts of Continental Europe. The Guide was first published in 1978. It is written for the reader seeking impartial advice on finding a good place to stay. Hotels cannot buy their way into the Guide. Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Between the Place des Vosges and the Place de la Bastille, a short walk from the Marais, stands this 'quirky' small hotel (MBG hotels). 'A good base to explore that side of town,' says the nominator, 'and fabulous for a place to stay when going to the opera'. Every room has been designed differently, using 'funky lamps, interesting materials, and other strange bits and pieces'. Seven roof-top rooms are themed to the seven deadly sins. Bright colours are everywhere in this 'fantastic world' created by designer Stella Cadente. 'Sometimes that kind of hotel can be terrible, but Hotel Original does work, rather well.' Service is 'pleasant and low-key' at this 'reasonable price point'. Breakfast consists of a hot drink, pastries, bread, yogurt, orange juice, cereal and fresh fruit. Bedrooms range from single to quadruple. Plenty of cafés and restaurants are nearby.
