The Hirt family has presided for four generations turning an old inn into this four-star hotel; Charlotte and Erwin Hirt are currently in charge. Some rooms are in an annexe behind the original building (connected by a covered walkway) – 'it blends well into the background; my suite was without fault.' There is an 'efficient lift', a 'lovely' terrace for dining and drinks in fine weather, and a spa. At breakfast, in a spacious room 'split to give an air of intimacy', 'the offering is excellent, and the presentation is something to behold'. The traditional dinner is 'excellent'. The staff 'while very professional' provide 'relaxed service'. The Bregenzerwald, with its 'limitless possibilities for walking and skiing' is close by, and the hotel is in the Lake Constance region, where cultural highlights include the Schubertiade.
