With 'unbelievable, expansive views of the Atlantic', mainland Cornwall's most southerly hotel offers good food, yoga classes, and 'excellent value'. Bedrooms, with sea or countryside views, some with original Victorian features, have a restful palette. The best have a coffee machine and mini fridge. In Fallowfields restaurant, Joseph Fallowfield cooks a locally sourced tasting menu in long or short form, with 'detailed and creative' cooking, according to the Michelin guide. 'The food was out of this world,' reported a reader. In the sea-facing Terrace, enjoy dishes such as whole roasted Cornish sole, beer-battered catch of the day, burgers or steaks. 'The sunset views were so special,' writes one reader.
