With 'unbelievable, expansive views of the Atlantic', Cornwall's most southerly hotel offers good food, and 'excellent value'. Bedrooms, with sea or countryside views, some with original Victorian features, have a restful palette, mini fridge and Cornish-grown tea. In Fallowfields restaurant, Joseph Fallowfield (who represented Cornwall for the BBC TV series A Great British Menu) cooks a locally sourced tasting menu, with 'detailed and creative' cooking, according to the Michelin guide. In the sea-facing Terrace, enjoy dishes such as roasted monkfish with Goan sauce and courgette bhaji. Breakfast is similarly imaginative. 'The sunset views were so special,' writes one reader. 'I have never seen a hotel location like it.'
