Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
It's no wonder that Ian and Chrissie Carling's hotel is so dramatic. Ardent about performing arts, they created, and are patrons of, the Barn Theatre next door. They have transformed their Grade II-listed building with showy pieces. Exuberant colours and patterns form striking backdrops in the guest lounge and bedrooms. Each has a wide bed, a coffee machine, iron and safe; perhaps an original fireplace painted deep blue or pink, a window seat or free-standing bath. Vivid shades of green vie for attention with flamingo wallpaper in Téatro's restaurant, popular for pre-theatre meals. Make an entrance for cocktails in the Piano Bar or meet by the firepit in the courtyard. Events may be held at weekends.
