Hop off the coastal bus right outside Emma and Paul Neill’s 16th-century farmhouse B&B on a luminous flood plain by the meandering River Cuckmere, at the heart of the Seven Sisters Country Park. Bedrooms range from cosy Under the Eaves, with brass double bed, to the two-bedroom, two-shower-room Saltwater suite, with period furniture, a wealth of exposed timber, a comfy private sitting room, a log fire lit in cold months. Light bites, cakes, sandwiches, pizzas and daily specials are served in the Saltmarsh Kitchen and courtyard.
