The Maltings
Norfolk
A historic brick and flint malt house with bedrooms spread over the main building, stables and cottages, this new, family friendly, dog-friendly hotel close to a pebble beach garners praise for its ambience and for locally soured food served in the Grain Store restaurant.
Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Close to ‘Webburn’s’ steep pebble beach on the unspoilt North Norfolk coast, a historic brick-and-flint malt house turned pub and surrounding buildings have been transformed into a family-friendly, dog-friendly hotel. Bedrooms, rated by size from single and cosy to more spacious, are individually designed, in unfussy cottage style, with soft pastel décor, a bath or walk-in shower, and eco-friendly, cruelty-free toiletries. In the industrial-chic Grain Store, with open kitchen, or on the terrace, locally sourced menus include sharing platters (fish, côte de boeuf, Lobster Wellington, vegan tagine) alongside dishes such as fermented barley risotto, miso-glazed pork chop, cod loin with pea puree. A bar and games room are social home-from-home spaces. Breakfast brings eggs Benedict, kippers from Cley Smokehouse.
