The Riverside at Aymestrey

Behind the Tudor black-and-white facade of this old coaching inn lies a gastropub big on sustainability, with some quirky options for an overnight stay.
Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
The River Lugg flows by this roadside Tudor black-and-white coaching inn, now a gastropub with sustainability at its heart. As well as bedrooms in the main building, there are quirky standalone garden lodges, all with shower, one with in-room bath, two with decked terrace. Home-baked treats and Noble Isle toiletries are complimentary. Chef-patron Andy Link uses produce from kitchen gardens, orchard and smallholding, honey from the bees, and foraged ingredients in creative dishes such as chicken, roast radish, garden herbs and onion mayo, with interesting vegan options. Everything possible is made onsite. The bar, with dog-friendly tables, has two log-burners and comfy seating. Both bar and restaurant have a relaxed, pubby ambience. When the sun shines, dine outdoors and watch for kingfishers.
