Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Overlooking a quiet stretch of the Thames and with more than 100 metres of waterfront, this 17th-century inn has been much extended over the years. Bedrooms are stylish and uncluttered, with muted décor and shades of soft blue and charcoal, teal and taupe. They range from very affordable cosy doubles to a family suite. The largest have a balcony, a bath and rain shower. Dog-friendly ground-floor rooms have outdoor access. The vibe is relaxed, friendly and casual, with an all-day menu of small plates, platters, grills, salads, burgers, sourdough pizzas. In summer you can enjoy a lobster roll, soft-shell crab or veggie chilli from the lobster bar and barbecue. Activities include paddle boarding, wild swimming and yoga, while the Chilterns await walkers.
