Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
Room names honour past residents at Andrew Guest and Helen Faulkner’s characterful B&B, which began life as a Georgian poor house and became a boarding school for young ladies in the Victorian era. It stands on the edge of a market town, with distant rural views and bike storage for cyclists. Interiors are filled with period furniture, artworks and bric-a-brac. Greatrex and dual-aspect Tunnicliff each have a shower room; beamed Emery has a spacious bathroom with roll-top bath and large walk-in shower. All have a fridge, and guests are free to use the library and garden. Breakfast choices include a full English and vegetarian, scotch pancakes, toasted muffins, served on the terrace when she sun shines.
