Good Hotel Guide Review
The hotel experts at the Good Hotel Guide
‘We had a nice room with an adapted bathroom in the peace and quiet of the vineyard. A pleasant place to stay.’ A trusted reader sings the praises of one of England’s oldest and most highly rated wineries, where bright, airy, contemporary rooms with south-facing patio, and timber-frame lodges with floor-to-ceiling windows and veranda overlook the vines. In June 2026, Newstead Sayer stepped in as chef and head of tourism, to run the brasserie kitchen and help to shape the visitor experience. His locally sourced seasonal menus might include Gloucester Old Spot pork chop with mustard and chive sauce; grilled spring cabbage with vine-leaf-wrapped pearl barley, parsley sauce. Wine tastings are available – or course. (Ralph Aldwinckle)
